Dr Anjul Sharma is a doctorate of philosophy in Indian Classical Dance form “Kathak”. Anjul is dedicated Kathak dancer and has been mastering in it from over three decades. She is the disciple of Pt. Rajendra Gangani, one of the leading exponent of Jaipur Gharana style of Kathak. Besides excelling in Jaipur Gharana style, she also learned technicalities of Lucknow Gharana style of Kathak from maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj. During the initial foundation of her step in the field of Kathak, she began learning under the guidance of professor Santosh Sharma and professor Santosh Vyas. They sparked the wholeheartedness in her with the passion of learning Kathak. Beyond Kathak, Anjul has also acquired cognition in theatre and television from Dr Yogesh Ghambhir. Anjul Sharma has been teaching Kathak since 1986. She Completed her PhD from Punjabi University, Patiala in the year 2002. She is amongst the most prominent kathak dancers and has trained hundreds of students in this art form. As of now, she is also teaching in Canada and doing wonders in making students learn the delicacy and beauty of Kathak.
